The Fassbind distillery from Oberarth in the canton of Schwyz has existed since 1846, and just ten years later Napoléon III awarded it the gold medal for its products at the Paris World’s Fair—the highest distinction a distillery could achieve at the time. Fassbind Vieille Barriques Prune is distilled from Löhr plums. To give it a particularly aromatic character, it is then aged for at least one year in specially made Limousin oak barrels. Dominant plum aromas with slightly peppery notes and a long finish.
