As early as 1872, brothers Paul and Raymond Lillet invented the aperitif named after them. It consists primarily of various white wines from Bordeaux blended with citrus liqueurs and aged for some time in oak barrels. Fruit and herb extracts are also added, providing a balanced, fruity flavor.
