As early as 1872, brothers Paul and Raymond Lillet invented their namesake aperitif. It consists mainly of various white wines from Bordeaux blended with citrus liqueurs and aged for some time in oak barrels. Lillet Rosé also contains Merlot and berry extracts, which provide a fruity flavor with a slightly tart finish.
