Beer Batter Apple Recipe: A Heavenly Treat

The Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized apples
  • ½ lemon, juice and zest
  • 200 g flour
  • 300 ml Schneider Weisse TAP1 “Meine helle Weisse”
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 20 g sugar
  • 40 g brown butter
  • oil for deep-frying

The Recipe

  1. Separate the eggs. Stir the flour, beer and egg yolks until smooth, then add the lemon zest, cinnamon and vanilla sugar.
  2. Finally stir in the warm brown butter.
  3. Beat the egg whites with salt and sugar until stiff. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
  4. Peel the apples, core them and cut the apples into 1 cm thick rings. Immediately drizzle with lemon juice.
  5. Dip the apple rings in the beer batter, let them drain briefly and deep-fry in hot oil until golden.
