The Unique Character of the Valaisanne Juicy IPA

But where does the unique character of the Valaisanne Juicy IPA come from? The beer style is called New England IPA, or NEIPA for short, and is defined precisely by this intense, fruity hop aroma that is reminiscent of fruit or fruit juice. Yet no fruit components are used in the brewing process. The three hop varieties Mosaic, Citra and Sabro are responsible for the fruity taste of our Valaisanne Juicy IPA.

Balanced Bitterness

In contrast to a classic IPA, the bitterness of the NEIPA is more balanced and takes a back seat due to the fruity hop aroma. In addition, NEIPAs are generally very hazy beers, which is why wheat, wheat malt, oats or oat malt are often used in brewing. These raw materials have a higher protein content and promote a more intense haze.

Creamy Texture

The oats also have the property of giving the beer a “creamy” texture, which is often described as a “velvety taste”.
