Working Together for the Health of Switzerland’s Waterways

With half a million francs a year, Feldschlösschen is actively committed to protecting Switzerland’s waters. In collaboration with renowned partners, we are committed to preserving the precious habitats of our streams, rivers, and lakes—because water is a precious resource that we, as brewers, particularly appreciate.

Responsible water management

Respectful water management is a central pillar of our sustainable development strategy. For our Feldschlösschen beer, we use only spring water from our sustainably managed sources in the Magden Valley near Rheinfelden.

But our commitment goes far beyond that: we care deeply about the health of waterways and springs throughout Switzerland—not just the ones we use ourselves.

Swiss waterways are at risk

The challenges of water protection in Switzerland are complex and cannot be tackled alone. Today, less than 5% of Swiss waterways are considered completely intact.

Many streams and rivers are heavily altered or polluted by waste. That is why this year we are launching the “Together for Swiss Waterways” campaign, in collaboration with Switzerland’s leading environmental organizations. The goal is to achieve measurable improvements through renaturalization, cleanup, and protection.

Our commitment in the field

We carry out our projects in collaboration with trusted partners—organizations that care as much about water and environmental issues as we do.

  • With Aqua Viva and the “Lebendiger Dorfbach” initiative, we help Swiss municipalities revitalize their village streams.

  • Together with IGSU (Interest Group for a Clean Environment), this summer we are organizing cleanup days in Basel, Bern, and Zurich along the Rhine, Aare, and Limmat. Trash is collected before it ends up in our rivers.

  • Together with the organization “Plongeurs de déchets Suisse,” we carry out targeted actions to clean up waterways—and retrieve waste from the bottoms of our rivers and lakes.
