Mineral water has always been a sustainable natural product. It comes from underground sources and is formed through a natural filtration process spanning decades. As it seeps through various layers of rock, it is naturally purified and enriched – this is how it acquires its high purity and mineral composition.

How rPET works in Switzerland
Recycling only begins when the valuable material returns to the cycle. In Switzerland, empty PET drinks bottles are therefore specifically collected, sorted and processed into a food-grade raw material in a multi-stage process.
What makes it special: from Swiss recycled PET (rPET), new PET drinks bottles are produced without any new plastic production – a closed PET cycle that enables genuine sustainability.
The PET cycle using Arkina and Rhäzünser as examples
The mineral water brands Arkina and Rhäzünser, produced in Rhäzüns by Feldschlösschen Getränke AG, have been using 100% rPET from Switzerland since this summer. This makes them pioneers in the field of sustainable packaging solutions.
The shrink films of the PET multipacks are also made entirely from recycled material. The result: over 430 tonnes of CO₂ emissions can be avoided annually through the use of rPET and recycled films alone.
Returnable glass as a complementary solution
In addition to PET, Feldschlösschen’s returnable glass bottles also make an important contribution to reducing packaging waste. They are reused up to 40 times and are characterised by an extremely low ecological footprint – particularly when they are filled and consumed regionally.
